The BNP office in Nayapaltan was taped off by police this morning with yellow tape, and it appears that they are handling it like a crime scene.
Only members of the police`s Criminal Investigation Department forensic investigation team were permitted inside the office, and riot police kept watch outside.
Paltan is still in a standstill following yesterday`s series of clashes between BNP men, police, and activists from the Awami League; nearly all businesses have closed and the gates have been closed. Several small houses within alleyways were also found to have locked doors and gates from the outside.
Only a handful of convenience or chain stores were seen to be open around 11:30 am today.
There are plenty of police officers in riot gear placed along every alleyway, ordering rickshaws and passersby to avoid the area surrounding the BNP office.
There`s a hot water cannon parked outside, and every police officer is carrying weapons.
